Diversity
In a changing world, classrooms are becoming more and more diverse. Students have diverse learning needs and teachers as well as technology coaches need to be able to reach all students. If we are able to reach all students diverse needs, we will be able to better students’ education as a whole.
When completing the Instructional Technology program at Kennesaw State University I have learned many ways to incorporate technology into my classroom to work with all types of diverse students for example ethnically diverse, different genders, SES, special needs, ELL/language proficiency and diverse learning styles. One way that helped me the most was coming up with ways that my school could ensure that girls are equally represented in technology subjects by creating a girls coding club as well as a women in technology career day. This gave me great learning opportunities for how technology can enhance learning as well as create an environment for all students to grow. I have also worked with students who need extra help in subjects by using online tools like visuals, video, and audio (read aloud) to help with remediation techniques. Another project I did was a grant application for computer lab resources for students of low SES who need computer time after school. These are just a few ways that technology has helped me when working with diverse students. Below is a list of diverse experiences that I have completed during this master’s program at Kennesaw State that help address diversity in schools:

- Researched and found assistive technology for students with diverse learning needs
- During professional development that I taught, included information about how to support diverse students learning needs so teachers could be more aware
- Created multiple lessons that included a section about diversity integrated into technology
- Researched and implemented multiple forms of new technology in my classroom as well as my grade level
- Collaborated with the technology team at my school to ensure all students had equal opportunities.
- Collected and analyzed data about diverse students
- Used Universal Design Principals to create lessons
- Used technology to differentiate learning for students in multiple grade levels, gifted students, and ELL students.
